The Child Abuse Monument project in Canada:

The "Reaching Out" Child Abuse Monument in Canada.

Dr Irving created the idea of having a monument for child abuse and involving not just survivors but others too. There are to be two of these (one completed pictured above) to be placed in Canada. The Monument is made up of hand prints of survivors. INSIDE the monument many A4 handprints of survivors and their supporters are to be placed INSIDE these monuments.

You can see my Poem 'Our Silence' which is on my handprint I sent in. There's also a video of my poem you can see below. I helped to spread the word about the project along with others. The link below takes you to the page on the monument. There's also a mention of my work there too.

Unfortunately, as yet, there has not been a place made available to place the monument (monuments when the other is done) despite Dr Irving putting in plans to help place and upkeep it. Dr Irving has worked for many years for this to be done. As of beginning of 2014 it has still not happened. I do check in from time to time, to see if their has been any progress. DO have a look for yourself, its a REAL shame, as I believe as others in this project. THIS monument celebrates surviving as well as remembering those that have past. And witnesses ALL supporters whether they have been abused or not, young, old and from all back grounds.

Our Silence

My hand print to be placed inside the child abuse monument in Canada.

An amazing video about the "Reaching Out" Child Abuse Monument.

In the video below, Dr. Michael Irving (creator of the monument) tells of his own story. He tells also of a girl aged eight, who beautifully said on her hand print: "The bravest people in the world, are not superman or siderman, but the people who are abused and live to help others like them". In the short video below,  there is also the story of Martin Kruze. R.I.P Martin... we can still hear you.

Thank you

I would like to thank Dr. Michael C. Irving and all those involved with the Child Abuse Monument for the recognition of my work, that they gave me. Including using my videos on the projects page.

Together, we are that much stronger.
