We have waged war on terrorism. There has been the war on drugs. We’ve had zero tolerance. Is the day going to come when you publicly tell us of The war on the ABUSE of children? When you stand up as you have for the war on terrorism. The children of the world are not only our future THEY ARE THE FUTURE. If we lose the war for the children. We lose a future for a better world. Whether terrorism, drugs, abuse or any subject you could care to mention. Someone once said “he didn’t see the sense in winning a battle to go on to lose the war.“ I believe that is what we are doing as a people as a society. Could you not publicly tell us “you wage war on the abuse of children“? And put the resources somewhere close to that which has been spent on the war on drugs or terrorism. Because all the other battles just as well be on the outside. There is something rotting at the core and the longer it is this way all the patching will not make a difference all the words or money will not. When the core the foundation to life itself THE CHILDREN has been eroded and overlooked compared to other policies home and abroad. We will only ever win battles but never win the war on behalf of JUSTICE, DECENCY and even HUMANITY itself. while the rights of the Abusers come before the rights of the Abused. ONLY THEY EVER WIN. While there is not enough of a network properly funded by government. It is more than we the abused slip through the net. The net was not there before during but worse still after. I speak from my experience and that which I have seen and heard of others. Until it is not mostly left to charitable organisations to fill a gap I believe the government this one and those before have left wide open and not filled. We the abused we the people we the lost children deserve better from the ones in power. I have met countless ones who battle to get concelling specifically for sexual abuse. And come up against disgusting attitudes and opinions from within the system and inept points of view. Only made bearable by the Samaritans and other well meaning caring people. Who unfortunately should have more power and money to do what they want because we know they would if they could. And not only what can be afforded. Compassion doesn’t cost money, just the will to give it. Lack of help because of expense? I would say to them maybe we have cost the system but it will never come close to what it has, does and will cost us. Something of many things that no money can purchase. The lack of these things is what costs us all the most and society as a whole in ways that can not ever be truly calculated but to know there is a cost for us all and it will not be just in the present but obviously in the future too. And if it is cost in money then more funding is needed. If it was given out of need then would we not have it automatically? The abusers didn’t give up all their rights when they abused us. But they gave up a right to have rights that come before the right of the innocent those that have been abused and those that haven’t. Yes they must be protected but not to the detriment of the vulnerable. And not to the detriment or risk to OUR basic human rights of protection from being abused or being abused again. The length of sentences of abusers is sickening. And its a rape and abuse of us and society in itself. Justice? confidentiality that only protects them? Unfortunately its worse too many times it serves them (oh too well). OUR rights are overlooked by them and others. Its time for OUR rights to come before theirs. THEY chose to Abuse THEIR RIGHTS THEY HAD when THEY ABUSED US. Don’t let us pay for it again or worse still more children. The balance needs to be shifted the other way. So it can serve us (in the way it should) as well as it has served them (in a way it never should have). Controlling or overseeing is what they need. It is us the abused and the innocent that need protecting from them. Not them from us. Something some seem to forget in a way that WE NEVER WILL.

I was at the Camden eye, London reading some poems. This is a RRRants run spoken word event. I read 'The world of silence and the shame you silence', 'The Psychiatric Window', 'The Heavy Hands of Time', 'A Distant War' and in part two I read 'The Fact is'. It usually takes allot out of me over the next few days after performing, BUT I feel a little better than usual afterwards which is good. Either way, I always have to fight to be able to... and DO. Thank you to Ant for taking the photo with my camera. And as usual thank you to all those who supported the performers on the night.

I had no video footage this time, but I did have audio so I have set it to video.

                             

OH please. I can't take anymore. Our UK Politicians are lecturing us all, on morality, and family values... AGAIN. Let us not forget the steeling and fraud of UK Politicians. Most of whom will never be punished, unlike us. Let us not forget the financial people, who have made money from us, been incompetent, still have their jobs, as we pay for it. The hacking scandal and the police involvement... and theres more that I can't fit in here.

Politicians in the UK got on their high horse of morality many times before. And have always been found more wanting than the rest of us. What has happened in the UK recently, was looting, which has no place in the fight against Government, the financial system etc etc. Arson which could have killed so many innocent people, is not on. But now Politicians are seizing on their chance to bring out this blame one parent families etc. Sorting out some of the issues which meant some have turned on their own kind recently, I am all for. But how dare Politicians use it to attack the working class and poor yet again. Claiming expenses your not entitled to, and simply giving it back. Doesn't work usually for the working classes. As many a self employed person would know. One of the last times the conservatives talked of family values, one of their MP's was found hanging by his tie, after a sex game went wrong. OH and many MP's were then also outed as cheaters, having afairs etc. Go for it Cameron, Clegg and Miliband. The floor awaits you... to fall flat on. I can't wait for them ALL, of ALL parties to fall flat on their faces, while they judge us all, by the standards of a bunch of looting idiots. That not only don't represent young people. They don't represent those who campaign / protest in this country..

Hampshire County Library Service:

At the beginning of August, I contacted my local library (Andover, Hampshire) with regards to holding an event. I wanted to raise awareness of NAPAC through doing some readings from my book. The local manager said that they would have to contact someone about this. I have now received this response below:

.

"unfortunately we are unable to offer you a time for your talk in the library as we have recently increased the number of events which will be taking place in the library for the foreseeable future and time and space is very limited in the branch."

For obvious reasons I do not except this. I replied:

"Thank you. I will write to Hampshire library service. I do not except the reasons. I will consider handing in my library card (to Hampshire county library service). I will also advertise the facts above. nothing personal. Yours sincerely. John Harrison"

I would like to add, it is not the local libraries fault. The event I wanted to hold, was not to promote my campaigning. It was to raise awareness of NAPAC and do so through my book. Of course my book would be promoted. But some people are welcome in their libraries to advertise their book alone anyway. You get used to having to fight for the right... but it hurts none the less.

Yesterday I went to my library to try and arrange a reading from my book, to raise awareness of napac they will let me know, as they have to ask their bosses first. I will also try and get it in the local paper if it goes ahead. Not to well at mo, but trying still.

Today (2nd August) I went to my local WH Smiths and Waterstones, to see if they would stock a copy. The managers of both shops weren't there, but the other staff were positive, and they will get back to me. I have left a copy at both. I also went to the naomi house charity shop, and donated a copy for them too.

Today (5th August) I had a very positive conversation with a well known retailer in Andover regarding stocking my book. I am awaiting the manager to come back from the other retailer, to find out about stocking it also in another shop in Andover, at first. 

 ..

Obviously links to it will be advertsied as soon as I have any definite confirmation and agreement. But at least one of those well known retailers looks very positive.

As always, I am trying to create something positive from something extremely negative.

This year more than ever, I have heard of the lies so many are and have been spreading about me. Including apparently I'm A druggy... I have never been a druggy, and I even gave up smoking cigerates about six years ago. Oh and I don't drink, and have never had a drink problem... despite what some have said. A few weeks ago it was said thet the Mental Health kicked my door down and sectioned me under the mental health act... news to me, you'd think I'd know. Well, it didn't happen. But what DID happen, is someone who lives near me had their door kicked in and they were apparently sectioned. Not only that, but I haven't been under my local Mental Health team for years. And if you read this site and my work you will know the real reason why that is. Also I have never been sectioned. You see the person who told people this, doesn't realize, exackly where I live. To some this may seem like a small thing. But I think you can see how its actually quite important. Its like years ago when some of my then friends went down the hard drugs route. Some sadly took Heroin. Instead of not having nothing to do with them. I tried to still be a friend, and not just split. They knew I didn't approve (because of their well being for a start). But because of this, not only at the time did people say I may be doing it. They said I was. I have to this day never had heroin, coacain, speed, e's (which years ago was a real big thing) or so many other drugs to mention. Am I perfect? NO. But I haven't done half the things people say, and the stuff I have, has been taken out of context for a start. But I sadly learned years ago that people don't let the truth get in the way of what they say... or more to the point, some, want to say. And over the years I have had so many things I'm said to have done, that is just not true, and I have said nothing. And many local people don't know anything about what I am doing here or in my poems and videos etc. And when they find out, some are going to start to understand the real truth about me, and what I have tried to do. If I was trying to attack family or old friends, wouldn't it show here? But I know others (when they find out) are just going to ramp it up, to discredit me and all I have gone through, to at least do something. This is the sad truth. There are some who know what I go through just to read my poems publicly.

The above only helps the guilty, and yet again punishes the vulnerable...

BUT we are vulnerable because we care

.

Could we really have it any other way?

.
